Loving the Icecap Parka!

"This coat is exactly what I needed during the latest polar vortex! It is warm, waterproof and light weight. My only ‘complaint’ is that the outer fabric is a bit stiff. I’m hoping the more I wear it, it will feel more ‘broken in’. But I still highly recommend this coat. It’s so worth it!!!"

Missed the mark on this one

"All my boys wear the Berne coats for farm work. My husband has one too. Great gear! When I saw this black insulated longer parka for ladies, I ordered it. I literally paid to return it though, it was so awfully designed. 1) fabric is SO heavy and unbending and stiff, like a plasticized duck cloth, but way coarse gauge, it doesn't even follow the body or move when bending, it's like wearing a sandwich board. It almost cracks as you bend. And with all the awkward space around the cost from not properly draping, I'm sure.cols would whistle right up there. Plus uncomfortable and chafing. 2) I don't know how much the cost weighs but I told my husband it was like wearing lead x-ray apron (and that's size M and I'm sized technically between M and L according to their chart). 3) I don't know what the piece is where the coat top is up near the neck and shoulder is, but it is so unyielding and tightly sewn, it is like steel band pulling on your neck like a yoke. It was literally painful to try on for a few minutes and my neck hurt even after removing the coat from trying it on. I'm really surprised this made it to production from such a fine farm outerwear company. All their women's farm coats are very short so I was looking forward to something with some length to avoid a cold backside but this just will not do. I hope it is discontinued."

Great coat

"Longer than expected but I'm pretty short. I'm 5'1 and it falls right above my knees which is honestly nice and kept me SO warm walking the neighborhood in 5 degree weather. Pockets are great. Hood is pretty stiff at first but softened up well."
